Pulp & Paper Enzymes
Wood fibre being a complex substrate, researchers at Epygen had been working on the potential of a range of Carbohydrase enzyme-mixes in Fiber Modification.
- With increased pressure on AOX levels, global focus on Enzymatic Bleaching has grown.Epygen develops purified Xylanases and Hemicellulases that render the pulp Ligninn easily accesible to bleaching chemicals, substantially reducing its need.
- Enzymatic De-inking allows recycle paper make brighter paper at neutral process condition, reducing effluent load and increasing productivity.
- Fibrillating Cellulases work on the fibre surface to induce fibrilation and improves the strength of paper by increasing fiber contact and bonding. Preparing the fibre increasingly susceptable to refiner blade action, reduces the need of conventional refining and large decrease in pulp freeness can be produced at light refining action by blades. On the other hand, Fine Hydrolsing enzymes are suitable for reducing fines in slow moving stock resuting in better machine speed and better drying, without compromising properties.
